Sunday services

Sundays are the days when we gather as the family of God at Platt to sing his praises and become more saturated with his Word, the Bible.  Because we’re a big family, there are a few ways that you can serve from time to time to help brothers and sisters engage with our heavenly Father.

Music
Have you noticed how many times the word ’sing’ appears in the psalms?  It’s just short of seventy.  That’s a lot of exhortations to sing!  So we do, and usually with instruments too.  So if God has gifted you musically and you think he might be leading you to glorify him at the front on a Sunday, email music@plattchurch.org to ask to join a band or have a jam with some of the other musicians.

Audio and Projections
One of the best places — particularly for the technically-minded — to cultivate a humble, servant-hearted character is by serving on the audio or projection teams.  Your role is almost never noticed, except when something goes wrong.  Here’s something you can do for the audience of one: God.

Reading
God’s word, the Bible, is at the centre of our Sunday gatherings, and we usually have someone read it aloud.  Has somebody commented recently on how helpful it is when you read the Bible?  How you bring things out that they might not otherwise have noticed?  Maybe you could bless the whole congregation with this God-given ability…
