It’s so important for Christians to be part of Jesus-loving, Bible-believing church communities. So if you’re still in Manchester over the summer, stick around at Platt and get stuck into Summer SBS and other church family activities.

And if you’re going to be away, and you’re not already part of a church where you’ll be, perhaps these two top tips will help you find one….

• Ask people at Platt if there are any churches they can recommend where you’ll be.
• Avoid the temptation to church-hop: find a good church and stick with it!  There’s no such thing as a perfect church, either.  If they love Jesus and preach the Bible faithfully, stick with it.  If they don’t, try somewhere else.

UCCF also offer some helpful, Bible-based questions to ask of a church…

• Is the church faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ and does it teach the Bible? (Titus 1:9)
• Do the church leaders submit themselves to God’s Word? (Titus 1:7-9)
• Is there genuine concern among the believers there to spur one another on in their faith? (Hebrews 10:24-25)
• Is the church obviously a Christian community where people love one another? (1 John 3:11-18)
• Can I imagine feeling at home and getting involved in the life of the church here, if it’s somewhere I’m likely to come back to again and again?
