The Great Escape?
The great escape is the annual SBS weekend away that takes place the weekend after exams finish so this year we’ll be away from the 27 – 29th Jan.
Ok so…What are we gonna be doing??
Well, this year, Nick Tucker, a lecturer at Oak Hill College will be coming to speak to us. He’s gonna be helping us to get our heads stuck into the Bible. Along side this we’re gonna have fun and games, lots of food, singing and praying, board game action , footie, table tennis and leg wrestling or walking in the beautiful shropshireness. It’s gonna be a jam packed weekend of teaching fun and fellowship.
… where is it?
It’s at the Quinta Centre in the prettyful Shropshire. “Quinta Hall is a Victorian country-house, which was later developed as a residential school, and is now a popular venue for church family groups.” It’s a pretty cool place for a weekend away!
but… how do we get there?
We’ll be getting a coach down from church on the Friday at 5.30 promptly!! If timing that’s gonna be an issue give me (Manny) an email and I’ll let you know of other options available. We usually have a few folks who drive down. We’ll be getting back for about 4pm on the Sunday.
… what will I need to bring?
All the usual bits n bobs needed for a standard trip
- a towel, tooth brush.. and other cleany things.
- Bedding (sheet, pillowcase, duvet or sleeping bag)
- Money for discount books at the EPIC BOOK STALL
- Boots for walking or for footie action
- Most importantly a BIBLE, notepad and a pen!!
Hhhmm … that all sounds pretty costly… how much is it?
Transport, food, accommodation, teaching and all, come in at a grand total of £45 pound, yep, you read it rightly it’s only £45!! What a bargain. You wouldn’t find a better deal at Lidl… or the weekend away equivalent of Lidl.
