Jim Packer has a way of explaining complicated theological ideas so that you not only gain a better intellectual understanding of God, but, most importantly, find yourself equipped and inspired to dig deeper and longer into your relationship with Him. He tackles issues such as the nature of the Trinity, the wrath of God, what it means to be a son of God, how God guides us, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Read it slowly; savour it and chew over it; you might find it particularly helpful to discuss each chapter with a friend, even if takes you 2 years to get through!
